Joseph & Rosie

Ceremony in the Forest

I was so excited to shoot the celebration of these two saying their vows! I love how much couples are doing things their way!

I wasn't the original photographer meant for this wedding but when the photographer referred it to me I was so thrilled, a ceremony in a forest was one of those that I had wanted to do when I started shooting weddings in 2019.

After our first meeting I was so excited to get to know them and to see the plans come together for the day, a forest wedding surrounded by all their friends and family. It was such a wonderful day I covered 6 hours of it and loved it, everyone was so welcoming and felt that I was able to capture people being comfortable and carefree, it was very much needed especially after coming out of lockdown!

I put the destination into my sat nav and blindly followed it to the venue on the day over the hills and down the valleys I could see only black clouds. By the time I reached the forest it had stoped raining and it felt magical walking around seeing all that they had done, it was incredible they had created a wonderful escape decorated and put up shelter for the day.

There was a walk down to the area for the ceremony, when everyone started making their way from the campsite and bar area they all walked together down the forest and you could feel the buzz from everyone! Waiting at the bottom they all took their places and waited for the bride.

Rosie had a short walk through the trees with her bridesmaids and father to be greeted by Joe and start the ceremony led by her mother, it was such a lovely celebration and everyone afterwards made their way back up to the main area to continue the party with wine, beer and all the amazing food that had been bought by the guests, there was plenty to go round and it was all delicious!

We took the family photos and then escaped through the forest to capture the couple portraits and walked down to the field a little down the road, we rejoined the party and dug into the food and and the speeches.

Everybody had so much fun it was an absolute joy to capture you could feel the happiness and love all through the party. The first dance was just as chilled and relaxed as the day and they were soon joined by the rest of the family and friends.
